We are proud of our Choir at First United Methodist Church, and we are blessed with a wonderful Director of Music Ministries, Mrs. Anne Bean. Mrs. Bean also teaches 5th Grade at Newton Elementary School.

Our choir practices can be somewhat rowdy... the pastor tries his best to keep everything running smoothly and under control... it was an unusual occasion on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, when everyone was well behaved and working diligently on our Palm Sunday and Easter music. It was a good opportunity to capture the choir at their best... working hard and sounding good! Of course we hope that we sound as good on Palm Sunday and Easter. The members of the choir are Rachel Martin, Claudia Presley, Jimmy Low, Kathy Miller, Octavene Booker, Dave Rydman, Gerry Rydman, Jim Snowden (absent in these pictures), Ed Tracy, Mary Pat Lafitte, Gadelle Todd, Jonnie Miller, Joe Miller (absent in these pictures), and Anne Bean. Be sure to notice that the back row is where the real talent resides. You can tell that by just looking! Now in all seriousness, these talented and gifted folks are very committed to First United Methodist Church and give of their time and talents to the church and to the Lord. We are very thankful for them.
