The Debbie and Larry Rawls Project The Demolition |
||
|
This week the short term Mennonite
Disaster Service volunteers are
from Beanblossom Mennonite Church in Beanblossom, Indiana. For you
Bluegrass music fans, that is the home of Bill Monroe. The impressive
thing about this group is that whole families have come to work, and even
their young folks are working.
On January 15, 2008, the demolition began in earnest. You will notice some on the roof, sawing off pieces and tossing them to the ground. The ground crew rakes and shovels up the pieces; dumps it wheel barrows; carts it to the dumpster; and shovels it into the dumpster. This was hard labor!

| Everything in the house was destroyed by water damage. So everything inside had to be taken out thrown away. | ||

Fortunately, Nathan Bishop, owner of Bishop Drilling, provided a back hoe and operator to tear down the rest of the structure. Ronnie Hughes, owner of Hughes Logging, provided the transportation of the back hoe to the project site. These pictures were taken the next day. |
