The Denise Powell Project |
||
|
Debbie Powell lives in Jasper. Her roof
was damaged by Rita, and she hired a contractor to repair. The Contractor
absconded after doing a very poor job. Whatever work he did had to be
removed before the roof could be repaired properly.
This project was made possible by Self Help Housing of East Texas (SHHET), a 501(C)3, Texas non-profit corporation that was established to provide housing. The funding for this entire project comes from two sources: Rita Recovery, an agency of The United Methodist Church, and Church World Service. The labor is being provided by the Mennonite Disaster Service. |
