Eagle Day

Homecoming Weekend 2007

Homecoming weekend began (for some people) with the big football game between Hemphill and the might Newton Eagles. However, the Methodist Christian School began the celebration with a pep rally on Friday morning, October 26. The highlight of the pep rally was the "surprise" appearance of the Newton Eagle Mascot. Unfortunately, Ms. Christie Odom missed this special guest because she had to leave and run an errand. At least that is what the kids thought... Ms. Christie makes a fine Newton Eagle. There was a special treat just before the Eagle arrived. Elijah's in Jasper furnished some Blue Bell ice cream for all of the kids to enjoy while they were waiting, and several of the teachers performed some astounding (?) tricks with hoops.
