| The Youth Rally was held on Friday night, July 25, from 7 to 10 PM. Katie Solmonson, the Director of Youth Ministries from John Wesley United Methodist Church in Houston, organized the event. David Davis, worship leader from John Wesley, provided the outstanding music (along with a really great band and vocalists). Katie brought 100 shirts to honor and memorialize the event: 50 shirts with John Wesley on the right shoulder for the Houston youth, and 50 shirts with Newton on the right should for the community. We had so many youth that Katie ran out of shirts. She also had some very cool door prizes, snacks and drinks, fun games, an inflated obstacle course, and a truly wonderful message. I wish that I had a DVD of the message... The pictures hardly capture the awesome nature of the entire event. |
