The Mennonite Disaster Service Appreciation Dinner |
||
| The Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) has been a tremendous blessing to Newton, Texas, and surrounding community. The were here within a few days after Rita, clearing brush and trees from houses and yards. Then they started rebuilding houses in early 2006. They left to return to their farms and other jobs, but they came back in 2007. The built two new houses, repaired a house, and put new roofs on 12 other homes. On April 26, 2007, Self Help Housing and Armstrong Chapel honored them with an appreciation dinner at the church. We all hope that we have not seen the last of the MDS! |
