On October 31, 2006, NABA served soup, gumbo, cornbread, and Halloween Cupcakes at the Powell Hotel to raise funds. These funds all go to pay for the Christmas lights in Newton. The next time you enjoy the train ride, the Christmas lights, the festivities on the square, the little Christmas shop, or any other Christmas things, remember the hard work that went into raising the money. And the gumbo and soup was delicious. Ain't Newton wonderful?
