The Walter McBride Project |
||
|
The McBride home is located on 63 North
out of Jasper towards Zavalla. The exterior of the house was in bad shape.
Repairs were done by The Community Christian Covenant Church from Denver,
Colorado. The project was accomplished the week of January 20, 2008. You
can tell by the pictures that the weather was not very cooperative, but
the work was accomplished in spite of the cold, rainy weather.
The funding for this entire project comes from several sources including the following: Rita Recovery, an agency of The United Methodist Church and Church World Service. The labor was provided by the Mennonite Disaster Service. The management of this project was made possible by Self Help Housing of East Texas (SHHET), a 501(C)3, Texas non-profit corporation that was established to provide housing. In Short, this project was made possible by a group of faith based and non-profit organizations. |
