The Wanda Parnell Project |
||
| Wanda Parnell lives in Pineland. Her house was destroyed by Rita and is unlivable. The house was in such bad shape that it had to be completely replaced. This project was made possible by Self Help Housing of East Texas (SHHET), a 501(C)3, Texas non-profit corporation that was established to provide housing. The funding for this entire project comes from several sources: Rita Recovery, an agency of The United Methodist Church; and Church World Service. The major labor came from the Mennonite Disaster Service. In Short, this project was made possible by a group of faith based and non-profit organizations. |
| The following pictures were taken on January 30-31, 2008. Notice the inside damage to the existing structure that is next to the beginning foundation and flooring of the new home being built by the MDS. | ||
