Every year the NISD observes the National Meet You At The Pole, a time for prayer and reflection that takes place on the campuses at 7 AM. This year's event was held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Newton also celebrates this day on Wednesday evening at the local churches. This year supper was served at First United Methodist Church and a program presented at First Baptist Church.
