On October 24, 2006, United States Representative, Kevin Brady, was visiting Newton, and he came by to inspect the progress on the Christian Community Life Center. |

November 10-12, 2006, the Klein United Methodist Church returned to Newton. They came earlier this year to help repair several houses damaged by Rita (See Klein) and they returned to help complete the construction of the Christian Community Life Center. The following pictures showing them doing the messy work of hanging sheetrock. |

| Of course, there are still a few rooms left to do! Lots of sheetrock work is needed. | ||
| On November 9, 2006, Mr. Robert Nichols, newly elected Texas State Representative, toured the Christian Community Life Center with the management of the Sabine River Authority. |

| Sometimes we added some improvements that are not part of the original plans. The steel structure in the recreational area (gymnasium) would be less obtrusive and blend in better if it were painted white to match the insulation. Jim Brennan is shown below as he begins the process of painting the steel structure on November 22nd. |

| This beginning picture is a "before and after" shot of one corner of the gym. Once is is completed, we will not remember how much difference this part of the project makes in the finished product | ||
As of December 6, the sheetrock was all hung and the painting of the steel structure was progressing. Cold weather slowed the painting of the structure because the paint gelled in the lower ambient temperatures. The first 4 pictures were taken of the gym. |

On December 7, 2006, Walter Diggles and Holly Anderson from DETCOG reviewed our progress. |

By December 26, 2006, the ceiling structure in the gym had all been painted. Tommy was busily completed the taping and floating of all the sheetrock. The inside is looking very nice indeed. Of course, there is still heating and air conditioning, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, etc. But we are making good progress! |
