The restrooms and conference rooms are completed, and the main bathrooms are nearly completed, lacking only partitions between the fixtures. | The Permanent Endowment Fund of Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church was gracious enough to award FUMC a grant to complete the A/C and heating system for the gymnasium portion of the Christian Community Life Center. It is very encouraging that a a sister United Methodist Church is helping to support the Newton Community. This center will be dedicated to the youth of this community and Moody is a significant partner in this community ministry. |

Although the building structure had been done for some time, we acquired new tables and chairs for the CCLC. They were unloaded and set up on September 15, 2007, by a team of church members and friends. Molindia and Donnie Henson picked them up in Lufkin. |

| With the inside ready for occupancy and utilization, we concentrated on making the building more accessible. Mark Bean construction added a covered porch to the front of the building, and began the task of completing drainage and landscaping at the rear entrance to the building. Funds for the covered porch were donated by the family of Faye Campbell in her memory. This pictures were taken on October 19, 2007 |
