Methodist Christian School and Daycare
Our goal at MCS is to allow each child to achieve his or her fullest potential through the offering of academic excellence and Christian training and nurture. Created in the image of God, children have the ability to become healthy individuals when the best opportunities for growth are allowed. We believe that a loving environment that provides outstanding academic potential can serve the formative years of children in the best manner possible.
Educational Activities
In addition to nurturing children in a loving environment, we also have a standardized curriculum that is identical to the one used in our local public school system, and we prepare our Pre-K classes for their future education along the same standards offered to Pre-K students at Newton Independent School District. Our Pre-K students take exams at the completion of their studies to certify that they are indeed ready for Kindergarten. We place a strong emphasis on learning at MCS. Our younger classes have a learning schedule as well, blending fun with knowledge.
Chapel
As part of the Christian education that we offer, we hold chapel services each Wednesday at 10 am for the children and teachers of MCS. Chapel services are held in the sanctuary of our church, and the children learn the basic tenets of our faith, as well as having an interactive worship service. Parents and interested persons are always invited to attend and receive an unparalleled blessing.
Family
"In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony."- Eva Burrows
At MCS, we not only consider our little school a family all our own, we are always thrilled to have the family of each child involved in our activities, and constantly provide ways for families to be involved in our everyday activities.
Activities
For children, education is as much about doing as it is learning. Our teachers are always planning special activities and field trips for our children. Our community is very involved in making sure that the children of MCS have the best experience possible as they travel on the path of knowledge.
Community Service
No Christian education can ever be truly complete without learning to serve others. Our children learn to share, love each other, and to care for everyone. Each year, our children participate in a fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital known as Trike-A-Thon. They have fun while helping others. Our children have also made trips to local assisted living facilities to interact with seniors and learn to love people in all walks of life.
