Potential Future Projects for Rita Restoration
|
There are projects in Newton Country waiting for some volunteer group that is willing to do the necessary work. Are you a member of a group that is willing to put your faith into action? Email us or call Pastor Joe at 409-379-3481. Also, monetary donations may be made for this work. 100% of money donated goes to help people in need. There are no administrative charges. Checks may be made out to First United Methodist Church (or simply FUMC) Rita Restoration Fund. Mailing address is FUMC, 308 High Street, Newton, TX. 75966 |

One potential project is the Pearl Sowell home in Burkeville. This home needs to be reshingled and leveled. There is also interior damage caused from water leaking through the roof onto the ceiling. |

Another project is the home of Patricia Erickson in Newton. She was fortunate not to have extensive roof damage, but needs some interior work. Her john needs a new seal, and the plumbing under kitchen sink leaks. Several of her faucets need to be replaced. She did not request work for her yard, but her grass needs cutting. The large tree also needs to be removed. If there is anyone able to remove it, that would be very much appreciated. Ms. Erickson loves her yard. The UM ARMY inspected her house but was unable to take care of her needs while in Newton. There is a limit to the number of jobs that can be handled in one week. Therefore, this project is listed here in case some other group can take care of it. |

| The Charles Hadnot home is in Newton. The roof leaks from Rita damage, but he was denied help by FEMA, and he has no insurance. Since his home is not level due to storm damage, the windows and a door do not work. There are no pictures yet. |
