Rita Restoration

Some of the ongoing restoration efforts are depicted below

On March 25, 2006, a group of volunteers from Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood came to Newton to do hurricane related repairs. Ms. Ella Harris had received a brand new roof a few weeks ago courtesy of the Mennonite Disaster Service. Now she has a new paint job and new back steps. The group is shown with Ms. Harris in front of the house. The first picture is before, and the second is after!

Mark and Debbie Cuda,  Dana Grigsby, Michael Pubentz, Howard Deterding, John Reidy, Lou Perfetti, and Scott Gorham.
 

 

Now that you have seen the before and after, the following scenes show the project as it progressed from beginning to end... even the clean up after the painting was done!

 

 

 

 

 

 

The group also repaired some ceiling damage done by Rita to the parsonage of First United Methodist Church of Newton
