This project, in the old Kerr High School, is the dream of one of the most visionary preachers in our community. Bro. L. D. Matthews of New Beginnings Ministry. Brother Matthews is a Church of God in Christ Preacher who has a deep and abiding love for the youth of our community, and he is leading an effort to provide a place for them for recreation, fellowship, and care. This next series of shots is a massive roofing project that was initiated by Canaan Land Ministries from Atlanta, Georgia. They were joined on Thursday of the week by a group of Amish that were with the Mennonite Disaster Service. The old roof was stripped of 2 layers of shingles, the roof supporting structure rebuilt, and new roofing installed. Rev. Randy Forward and a local team of interested citizens also supplied labor and materials. The Fomby family supplied some labor and heavy equipment for this large project. The interior of the building was worked on by Klein United Methodist Church. Link to Klein
